By Gary Roberts RLCM - It is said to be a game of two halves and, yes, it was, but unfortunately for Wests Tigers, they lost the first half quite miserably. It is hard to imagine how a top NRL team could play so terribly in that first 40 minutes at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast before 26,103 fans, many of them Wests Tigers' supporters.

Former Great Britain international Lee Crooks has been appointed as Technical Director of Serbian Rugby League, as the nation gears up for the 2013 World Cup Qualifiers. His role, which is initially for a 12 month period, will see him act as a mentor for Serbia Head Coach Marko Janković while also working on increasing coaching standards at club level in the domestic competition.

But not even the horrendous conditions could dampen Belconnen United's spirit after emerging 28-14 victors in yesterday's major semi-final against the Queanbeyan Kangaroos. The Scholars are the first team through to the Canberra Raiders Cup grand final and as the siren sounded yesterday, they celebrated like they'd just won the premiership.

By Aaron Lawton - Former Kiwis hard man David Kidwell - the enforcer famous for putting lippy Kangaroo Willie Mason on his bum - has been appointed Junior Kiwis coach. The 14-year NRL veteran retired from professional league last year after seasons with the Adelaide Rams, Parramatta Eels, Warrington Wolves, Sydney Roosters, Melbourne Storm and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

By Amit Raj - Iliesa Takubu was the hero for Sabeto Roosters on Saturday after his try put the Nadi-based team into the grand final of the Fiji National Rugby League club competition. Sigatoka Electric Limited Sabeto Roosters were trailing 8-5 when Takubu somehow stretched over for the decisive touchdown despite being grounded in a tackle and buried underneath a couple of Broncos defenders just ahead of the try line.
