Chris Riley became the first Warrington player to score five tries in a Super League match as Harlequins lost 58-0 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Quins thrashed Warrington 60-8 at the Twickenham Stoop in Tony Smith's second match in charge of the Wolves last March, but there was never any chance of a repeat with the hosts ripping into the Londoners from the start and leading 12-0 after only seven minutes.

Warrington bagged 11 tries during their mesmerising victory with scores from Simon Grix, Garreth Carvell, Chris Bridge, Richie Mtler, Richie Mathers and Michael Monaghan adding to Riley's five-star display.

Two tries from Hull KR winger Peter Fox and the unerring boot of Michael Dobson helped Justin Morgan's side claim a 30-12 victory over Salford at Craven Park.

Dobson added a try to finish with 16 points as Jake Webster and Clint Newton also bagged scores to help the hosts claim a convincing victory.

Jodie Broughton and Matty Smith grabbed Salford's tries as they started the new season with a defeat.

Youngster Dale Morton scored twice as Wakefield beat battling Catalans 28-20 to claim their second win of the new season.

The 19-year-old Academy product benefited from two Danny Brough passes as the Wildcats recovered from a 16-10 deficit in the second half at the Hearwell Stadium.

Glenn Morrison also touched down in the Wakefield recovery, adding to earlier tries from Dale Ferguson and Luke George.

Catalans twice led after tries from Dimitri Pelo, Olivier Elima and Sebastian Martins but Chris Walker's late effort proved mere consolation.
